Less Than Zero

Julian is also being hassled by his dealer, a former classmate named Rip, for a debt of $50,000 that he owes to him.

Jami Gertz plays Blair. Clay's relationship with Blair rekindles and Julian's behavior becomes more volatile.

That relationship helps define Blair beyond the immediate plot mechanics.

His high school girlfriend and now model, Blair, has become addicted to cocaine and has been having sex with Clay's high school best friend, Julian Wells.

Less Than Zero has more on its mind than the basic setup suggests. family sits close to the centre of the film, but it is explored through the characters rather than treated like a lesson.

friendship matters just as much. The film keeps challenging the assumptions its characters make about one another, which is where much of its emotional weight comes from.
